This guide is written for model number <strong>2522-3FG<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"original-specs\">Original specs:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Intel Core i7-620M (2.66 GHz)<\/li><li>14.1\u201d WXGA+ 1440&#215;900<\/li><li>NVIDIA Quadro NVS 3100M (256MB)<\/li><li>4 GB DDR3 1066 MHz<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"modifications\">Modifications:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kingston SSDNow V300 (120 GB) instead of 250 GB HDD<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.de\/Wireless-AR5BHB92-Dual-band-802-11b-Toshiba\/dp\/B00EECOXE4\">Atheros <em>AR5BHB92<\/em><\/a> instead of Intel Ultimate-N 6300<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the beginning there needs to be a Windows 7 (x64) running on the laptop for applying a BIOS update &amp; patch. Between wiping Windows and installing Lion, there has to be done a temporary Snow Leopard installation, just to create a Lion USB installation thumb drive. At the end, the Thinkpad T410 will be running a fully functional <strong><em>Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion<\/em><\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"replacing-the-wireless-card\">Replacing the Wireless Card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Intel wireless cards aren\u2019t supported by OS X, the card (Intel Ultimate-N 6300) has to be replaced by an Atheros AR5BHB92 to get the WiFi to work on a Hackintosh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AR5BHB92 isn\u2019t on the whitelist of the T410\u2019s BIOS, so the laptop refuses to boot with <em>Error 1802<\/em> if the card is placed in the PCIe slot. The beeping is caused by the security chip, which recognized the whitelist removal patch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It can be disabled in BIOS (<strong><em>Security &gt; Security Chip &gt; Disabled<\/em><\/strong>). After disabling the security chip, the beeping will be gone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pin-20-tape-trick\">\u201cPin 20 Tape Trick\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026and the hacking goes on \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wireless card will be disabled and won\u2019t find any networks by default. It needs to be enabled by a switch on the laptop, which the T410 doesn\u2019t have. So the card needs to be tricked into thinking it is enabled by default. The trick? Tape over <strong><em>pin 20<\/em><\/strong> of the cards PCIe connectors!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OS X will now recognize the wireless card without any further modifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"snow-leopard\">Snow Leopard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"requirements-1\">Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Mac OS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard Retail DVD<\/em> (eBay)<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonymacx86.com\/downloads.php?do=file&amp;id=38\">iBoot 3.3.0<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"installation\">Installation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Burn iBoot to a CD<\/li><li>Boot iBoot CD<\/li><li>Insert Snow Leopard DVD, hit F5 &amp; Just select the Lion system volume as target for the installation.
